I agree that personality makes a huge difference. No one wants to read a blog that is built strictly for search engines. I try my best to be a little "different" which seems to always attract a few new readers.

Just like B said. there is a lot of personality in your blog. I think what drives me to blogs are the attachment I get from the writer.This makes it really interesting, not just facts, but your own thoughts. Thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful insight into blogging.

I'm very new to the game so any advice is great. This post is quite incredible. I must make sure I inject a bit of personality in future posts.

I've been concentrating on quantity and content rather than myself. Not sure if there's anything of interest in 'me', but I'll certainly try.

Great post and a topic I agree with so much I actually recently released a book devoted to the entire idea of putting more personality into all parts of business (including blogging). I've been working with Anissa to try and find a time for us to chat on your show and will contact her again thanks to this great reminder!

Great point! Every blog I am a fan of has a picture of the author and a decent "About Me" page. I like the blogs that tell stories with their posts...and are built around a person.

Nothing more boring than a blog with just facts...I can go to Wikipedia for that type of content!

Jack You make an outstanding observation with this post. Granted a lot of people creae blogs using software and spinning articles with more software. And yes they will get an audience and perhaps sell some products.

And that project will be short lived and then it's on to another one. But with a real person and personality behind the blog, like Jack Humphrey and the Friday Traffic Report. Reader base and business success are more apt to be a long lived reality.
