Thank you for that Jack. I only submit my articles to 5 or 6 articles directories including ezinearticles and goarticles.

I dis submit to hundreds of directories in the past, but I didn't find that really effective.

I just use www.submityourarticle.com to spread the word about our articles. I'm not sure, but I think I read around here that Jack does this too. I'm not sure if that's all he does, is using this service enough?

Cool site and great list of ezine sites. Them are all good high traffic sites that will send your good traffic, but don't forget about the smaller sites like mine A'ok'Articles an article directory full of articles that make the grade, located at http://www.aokarticles.com/

It is still fairly new but is growing rapidly and I just gave it a new great look. We take our time and handsort all our articles and provide additional resources like a link directory to list your article URL's to the articles you have listed on your website or you can list your categories etc..

I have been thinking about adding an article directory to my site, what do you think? I've heard that adding a directory will help bring traffic to your site. I was under the impression that you might own submityourarticle. The short list you have provided is the list I use to submit my articles thanks to your Authority Black Book.

I don't own SubmitYourArticle.com - too much work for me! Steve does a great job and gets killer coverage for us so I recommend him as much as possible.

As far as article directories go, you have to be ready to do something remarkably different than the flock of hundreds of article directories out there to get traffic and loyal readers and publishers.

EzineArticles.com is the measure of what an article directory should be.

If you want to get some extra traffic it wouldn't hurt to add a directory script to your site and push people over to articles from the blog, but I wouldn't spend a massive amount of time on it if I were you.

It's a lot of work doing it "all the way."

Just Google "article directory scripts" - there's tons of them out there.

Here's something that will reward the few who make it down this far regarding repuposing blog posts:

I wouldn't syndicate a blog post as an article unless I significantly changed it.

Here's what I HAVE been doing:

Put older blog posts on your HubPages, Squidoo, remote blogs like xanga.com and tons of others, and places like Newsvine who encourage full posts in their "articles" section.

I am getting TONS of link love and new traffic out of this tactic.

Do this with OLDER posts that aren't ranking in the engines and get new use out of them this way.

I only submit to the directories that have the highest Alexa rankings (EA being the best).

Curious - do you write a unique article for EA then a modified one for your blog or website, then modify it again when submitting with SYA software or use the same one for all submissions?

I do try to pick different headlines and modify some of the content, yes. But I don't use software to do it, other than Article Leverage, nor do I get very scientific about it.

I have in the past and the ROI wasn't much improved or changed to justify the time tweaking articles too much.

Plus I do it to get picked up by people with traffic to send me #1, rather than to try and manipulate the engines.

I have much better ways to do that! :)
